  • Overview

    Warehouse & Materials Manager oversees activities related to raw material management starting from working with formulation R&D/ production teams to determine future requirements of raw materials for R&D trials to GMP batches of products, coordinating in procurement/ purchase of raw materials; overseeing receiving, shipping, warehousing & material management, allocation & distribution of raw material lots to GMP and R&D stocks; coordinating with the Quality Assurance team for sampling & follow-up with testing laboratory for release. Maintain raw material status list of each project by working with key stakeholders in Formulation R&D, Production, Purchase, Inventory control/ Warehouse, Quality Assurance and Analytical/ Quality Control Laboratory.

    Responsibilities

    Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to

     

    • Coordinates with formulation R&D/ production teams to determine future requirements of raw materials for R&D trials to GMP batches of products and plans for timely availability of raw materials based on input from different groups.
    • Coordinates and follow-up with purchase department from purchase order initiation to delivery date confirmation to ensure timely availability of appropriate raw materials.
    • Oversees receiving, shipping, warehousing & material management activities to ensure that raw materials are received, stored & issued appropriately and products are shipped as per shipping requirements.
    • Ensures material management operations are maintained by giving leadership to direct reports to run efficient operations.
    • Manages warehouse staff’s results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
    • Leads direct reports to gather information to enhance operations to be always moving forward with new ideas.
    • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
    • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
    • Maintains cGMP and FDA regulations of warehouse for storage and distribution.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • Maintains employee work hours to ensure efficient operations while limiting any unnecessary overtime.
    • Performs other functions as required or assigned.
    • Complies with all company policies and standards.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

     

    • Bachelor degree in a Science field required.
    • APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification preferred.
    • Five to Seven years of shipping/ receiving, inventory control, material management experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
