Located in Bridgewater, New Jersey, Kashiv Pharma is an emerging pharmaceutical research and drug delivery company focused on developing innovative technology platforms and novel drugs with clinical differentiation and a compelling value proposition for patients, physicians, and payers. We have developed a portfolio of proprietary drug delivery technologies to improve the efficacy, safety, compliance, and dosage of low bioavailability drugs where absorption could be limited due to solubility, permeability, and stability problems. Our approach is to understand market needs and develop innovative medicines to improve health outcomes. The pipeline consists of novel drug formulations for preventing drug abuse or misuse, and in improving treatments for severe debilitating diseases. We plan to commercialize our products through licensing, or partnering, or through the creation of our specialized internal commercialization infrastructure.


This position provides full time environmental, health, and safety support to operations and will ensure site is in compliance with all EHS regulatory and Kashiv Pharma requirements. Position is responsible for creating all EHS programs, training staff, and working with all areas to ensure implementation of all and work practices are compliant. 


  • Keep current with EHS regulations and ensure site EHS plans, procedures, programs, and operations are regularly reviewed and kept in compliance.
  • Review new equipment, facilities, and operations to ensure they meet EHS requirements.
  • Ensure environmental permits and records are maintained and meet regulations and permit requirements, including PCP, Boiler SEGAP etc. Apply for new or modified permits as required by site changes in equipment or operations.
  • Site contact and representative for any EHS regulators, inspectors or audits. Ensure any cited regulatory deficiencies are corrected and documented to regulators.
  • Prepare and submit any EHS reports as required by regulations or permits. Maintain and submit EHS performance data and KPIs
  • Manage site regulated waste program.
  • Assist all areas with accident/incident investigation and determining root causes/corrective actions. Maintain records per regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct site-wide EHS inspections, maintain inspection records, and ensure corrective actions are completed and effective.
  • Perform exposure monitoring and ensure no employees are over exposed to any health hazards.
  • Provide EHS support and guidance to all departments. Revise Safety and Engineering SOP’s and conduct training as requested.
  • Lead the site Emergency Response organization, ensures provisions are in place to handle any foreseeable emergency situation.
  • Arrange for OEL reports by gathering data from R&D team for process flow and ensure proper Cross Functional Coordination, prepare baseline environment assessment report.
  • Coordinate with safety consultant for safety assessment for potent/hormonal drugs for FR&D and AR&D group. Implement the recommendations as per the consultant and train employee before initiating the project.
  • Maintain Documentation as per company's requirement / GMP requirements /
  • Supervise construction activities and train contractors for safety plans, ensure correct PPE are worn.
  • Maintain inventory of safety supplies / consumables. Interact with vendors for identification and procuring safety supplies
  • Ensure proper HAZMAT disposal and arrange the Manifest of Hazardous & Nonhazardous waste, Land Disposal ban form and Lab pack documents for past two years.
  • Arranged DOT and IATA training for employees to be compliant with DOT standards for handling and transfer of HAZMAT.
  • PPE Assessment of each department and Job Hazard Analysis
  • Arranging Fire Drills and training for emergency evacuation and familiarizing with the exits and assembly points.
  • OSHA 300 & 300A logs filing to cover accidents/injuries from previous year.
  • Monitor contractor work for EHS compliance as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


  • Minimum B.S. degree in Health & Safety, Environmental, Engineering, or other degree with advanced EHS degree. 
  • Must have comprehensive understanding of Federal, State, and local EHS regulations and their application to industry.
  • CSP or CIH certification preferred or working towards certification.
  • Should have additional training such as Hazwoper, First Aid/CPR, OSHA 30 hour training, combustible dust, etc. 


Experience and Competencies: 

Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in EHS in a manufacturing/lab environment. Prefer experience in a cGMP regulated industry involving manufacturing and labs.
